I'm in the process of reviewing all the Proform models, I'm working hard to get them up by the end of this week. It's hard when it's only one guy :^)

I'm glad you're enjoying the site and the reviews, make sure to spread the word.

Hi Bret,
Do you have an opinion/review on the following two ProForm treadmills, which are sold by Home Shopping Network?

I just happened to catch HSN yesterday when they were selling the CrossWalk Caliber Treadmill. I thought it looked pretty good, esp. with the shock absorption! The ProForm spokeswoman said they had worked with HSN on this treadmill to combine the most popular "favorite" features.
I went to the gym last week to try out the treadmills there, and found it to be a very hard/pounding experience. My legs/hips were sore the next couple days. I did about 50 min. on their treadmill (95% walking since I could not stand running on that surface too long). I thought this was odd since they should have the better gym quality treadmills... think the brand was Spirit.
Thanks!

Brett,

I've been researching treadmills for too long and now I'm actually in a point in my life where I truly need one to get the weight off that I gained during my pregnancy 3 years ago (120 lbs!). I have read many reviews from several websites and found yours to be the most informational. It would be a great if you could take this one step further for me - please!

I do not have a lot of money, which is the main reason I still do not have one. $500-$700 is still a lot of money when you don't have much to spare, so I want a treadmill that will appropriately meet my needs. It'll take me another 3-6 months (or longer) to save another $1000, so I want to be sure I buy the right treadmill. I really would appreciate your advice - I'm completely afraid that I'll buy the wrong one!
I think I've narrowed it down to two: 1. ProForm 995 SEL; or
2. Smooth 5.15
What do you think?

I don't see myself running or even jogging much - I put on over 120 lbs. within 9 months, not to mention, I was never a superb jogger. However, my wish is to use the treadmill on a daily basis and my goal is to lose 100 lbs. by next summer. I don't have a lot of space in my home, so I need it to fold and also, would prefer one that's as quiet as it can be (I'm putting it right in my bedroom, so as not to be able to aviod it and that's right next to my son's bedroom). I wouldn't mind being able to know my ekg rate - like what's my target speed and distance supposed to be so my heart is OK and I'm losing maximum weight without keeling over (I just don't want to concentrate on that too much, as I only want to get walking and in shape asap).

So, hopefully, I've provided you with enough information for you to assist...did you know your link to contact you directly doesn't work? I'll check the Blog again, of course, or you may email directly at karob401@yahoo.com.
Thank you in advance! I hope to hear from you soon!

Kimberly
